The Virginia Spirits Board is celebrating Virginia Spirits Month in September and we hope you, our licensee partners, will celebrate with us! How can you celebrate?

• Save 20% on more than 150 Virginia-made spirits all month long! September is the perfect time to try a new locally produced spirit on your bar or stock up on a favorite you already carry. Visit your local Virginia ABC store for participating brands.
• Request copies of the new printed Virginia Spirts Guide and Map. This first of its kind printed map includes all licensed distilleries with tasting rooms spanning seven distinct regions across the Commonwealth. It’s a perfect tool to help your guests get out and explore more Virginia-made products! You can request copies by sending an email to [email protected]
• Encourage customers to join us for a year of Endless Exploration with the new Virginia Spirits Passport. Passport holders will earn points for checking in at participating distilleries. Points can be redeemed for Virginia-made gifts along with gift cards for hotels and restaurants across the state to take their adventure even further! Click here for more information.

Who is the Virginia Spirits Board?
The Virginia Spirits Board was established in 2020 by enactment of the Virginia General Assembly. It was created to provide resources for promotion of the Virginia spirits industry by a number of means approved by an administrative board appointed by the Governor. The purpose of the Board is to foster the development of the Virginia spirits industry by expanding spirits research, increasing education, and promoting the production of ingredients necessary for alcohol distillation and the production of spirits in the Commonwealth.
 
The Board is comprised of eleven members, three of whom are coopers or maltsters and six of whom are owners or operators of a distillery in the Commonwealth. The remaining two members are the Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services and the Chief Executive Officer of the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority, and they serve ex officio without voting privileges.

The Virginia Spirits Board Marketing Office, operated by the Hodges Partnership – a strategic communications firm located in Richmond, VA, has partnered with Drink Local, producer of the Virginia Spirits Expos, to help promote the Virginia Spirits industry and provide additional opportunities for consumers to engage with local distillers.
