Food Handler Training & Certification

ServSafe offers the premier training solution for restaurant employees and food handlers. This program offers important safety and training information for both front- and back-of-the-house employees of restaurants, catering facilities, and other foodservice locations.

The ServSafe Food Handler training is offered through an online course and exam. After successfully completing the course and exam, participants will earn their ServSafe Food Handler Card.

How do I sign up for the class? ServSafe Food Handler is offered online, via the ServSafe website. Just create a login, or use an existing one, and register for the "Online Course & Assessment".
How much does it cost? The Online Course & Assessment are $15.
How long does the Course & Assessment take? Because it's offered online, it's self paced. But the course usually takes 60 to 90 minutes. The assessment is not timed.
How long is the assessment? And, what do I need to get to pass? The exam consists of 40 questions covering the 5 course topics (Basic Food Safety, Personal Hygiene, Cross-contamination and Allergens, Time and Temperature, and Cleaning and Sanitation). You must receive a 75% score or better to pass.
When will I know the results? If you successfully complete the course and assessment, a certificate is available online to print. You can always check your score on the ServSafe Food Handler website.
