VRLTA Members Fill 8 Board of Directors Positions at Annual Meeting

Richmond, Va. – May 5, 2016 –The Virginia Restaurant, Lodging & Travel Association (VRLTA), the leading association for Virginia’s restaurant and travel industry, elected its new slate of officers and directors at its Annual Meeting held April 18 and 19, 2016 at Norfolk Marriott Waterside Hotel in Norfolk, VA. The elections welcomed eight association members to new positions with the Board of Directors.
Most prominently, Debbie Stocks, owner of Your Benefits Partner, LLC in Glen Allen, Virginia, was elected to the officer position of Treasurer in a special election following the conclusion of the Annual Meeting.
In addition to the appointment of Ms. Stocks as Treasurer, the Board welcomed the following individuals to the Board of Directors during the Annual Meeting:
Supplier Component President — Jeremy Gill, Comcast Business
Travel Component President — Kevin Costello, Abingdon Convention and Visitors Bureau
Steve Beyer — LeisureMedia360 — representing Appalachia and Blue Ridge Highlands
John Shaffer — Luray Caverns — representing Shenandoah Valley
Directors at Large
Virginia Hotel & Lodging Association — Tim Peters — Sheraton Norfolk Waterside
Virginia Restaurant Association — Kevin Rowell — Whiskey Kitchen circa 2014
Virginia Travel Association — Barry Biggar — Visit Fairfax
“I’m excited to welcome these members to the 2016 Board of Directors,” said Eric Terry, president of VRLTA. “The Association’s Executive Committee will stay largely intact moving into 2016 and 2017, so we have aspirations to accomplish many positive things for Virginia’s restaurant and travel industry.”
