More than 300 AAHOA Members Provide Increased Support for Virginia Restaurant, Lodging & Travel Association
Richmond, Va. – January 6, 2016 – The Virginia Restaurant, Lodging & Travel Association announced this week that the Asian American Hotel Owners Association has signed an agreement with the Association (VRLTA) to support statewide, regional, and local government affairs efforts and policy positions.
"We are pleased to be working with AAHOA and its Virginia members in an official capacity in 2016. With the General Assembly session starting later this month, the partnership agreement could not have come at a better time for our Associations,” said VRLTA President Eric Terry. “We anticipate an active 2016 legislative session, with many major topics, including taxation and regulation of the Short-Term Online Rental Marketplace, ahead of us this year."
The partnership is accompanied by a commitment from AAHOA to promote VRLTA's events actively, with particular emphasis on driving engagement and attendance to Virginia’s Annual Tourism Day on the Hill events. Virginia’s 2016 Annual Tourism Day on the Hill event is scheduled for January 27–28.
"With more than 300 Virginia members, we recognize the impact that the hospitality industry has on the state's economy. We are proud to build a relationship with the VRLTA because they share the same commitment to advocacy, education, and membership support that AAHOA does," said AAHOA President and CEO Chip Rogers. "We look forward to this new partnership because together we can effectively navigate the issues faced by business owners around the state."
The partnership was formalized on January 1, 2016. However, VRLTA and AAHOA have worked closely on industry issues in the past.
