Be A Champion for Hospitality & Tourism
January 27–28, 2016 • Richmond, Virginia
As we prepare for 2016, Virginia will welcome 18 new legislators to its General Assembly. With virtually no change in the balance of power in the House or Senate, Virginia's hospitality and tourism industries must prepare for another year of battles to protect our businesses. In 2016, we expect to fight for equal taxation for the Short-Term Online Rental Marketplace (e.g., Airbnb), increased tourism funding and protecting and enhancing VA ABC legislation. Undoubtedly, we will also face local prepared meals tax fights and continued attacks on the post-Labor Day school start laws.
With another trying year ahead, we need all the support we can get. Sign up today to join VRLTA, in concert with AAHOA, for our first big event of the new year. The 2016 Annual Day on the Hill will feature the association's meetings and an inspiring reception at the former historic Hotel John Marshall. The following morning, we will storm the hill with breakfast and legislative office visits.
